Marlin Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Site Work / Construction Laborer to join our growing team in Freehold, New Jersey.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an individual with experience in heavy civil construction, site development, excavation, underground utilities, and general construction labor.
The ideal candidate is a reliable, safety-conscious professional who is comfortable working outdoors, performing physically demanding tasks, and supporting equipment operators and field crews on active construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform general construction labor on heavy civil and site development projects.
- Assist with excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation activities.
- Support the installation of underground utilities, including storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure.
- Assist equipment operators with excavation, material placement, and site cleanup.
- Perform manual labor involving shoveling, raking, grading, compacting, and moving construction materials.
- Assist with the installation of drainage pipes, structures, curbing, and other site improvements.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, and other small construction equipment.
- Help establish and maintain safe work zones around active construction equipment.
- Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Follow instructions from Superintendents, Foremen, and other field personnel.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and established construction procedures.
- Perform additional construction-related duties as assigned.

Required:

- Previous experience in construction, site work, excavation, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, digging, and working on uneven terrain.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and construction equipment.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a construction crew.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites.
- Commitment to workplace safety and established construction practices.

Preferred:

- Experience in heavy civil construction or commercial site development.
- Familiarity with underground utility installation, trenching, and excavation.
- Experience working around excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
- Experience with pipe installation, grading, compaction, or drainage systems.
- Ability to operate compactors, jumping jacks, skid steers, or other small equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience working on commercial, municipal, or industrial construction projects.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely on uneven terrain and active construction sites.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks while following established safety procedures.
